Samantha Greene

Samantha Greene is a Founding Partner with more than 20 years of experience representing clients in complex criminal cases, and one of a small number of attorneys in California holding the title of Certified Criminal Law Specialist, awarded by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization. That certification requires meeting rigorous standards in criminal law experience, continuing legal education, and a written examination — a level of scrutiny that mirrors the preparation federal cases demand.

Samantha’s federal admissions extend well beyond San Diego: she is admitted to practice before the Federal Bar Association in the Southern and Central Districts of California, the Western District of Virginia, and the Eastern District of Texas. That federal court experience is not theoretical. Samantha represented a client charged in the Southern District of California with importation of marijuana and possession with intent to distribute — a federal jury returned not-guilty verdicts on both counts, and the case was dismissed.

Before founding Sevens Legal in 2013 — the firm behind Federal Criminal Defense Lawyers’ federal practice — Samantha served as a Deputy District Attorney for San Diego County and as a Certified Law Clerk for the Public Defender’s Office, giving her a rare view of a federal or state criminal case from every side of the courtroom. She has been named to Super Lawyers every year since 2023 and was recognized among the San Diego Business Journal’s 2025 “Leaders of Influence in Law.” Clients facing federal drug, fraud, or violent crime charges get an advocate who has already stood on the other side of the docket.
